    The goals of the Phlebotomy technician program are:

    1. Student/graduate has skills adequate to function as an entry level phlebotomy technician.
    2. Student/graduate competently assists other allied health workers in lab aspects of the facility.
    3. Student/graduate displays good communication skills.
    4. Student/graduate utilizes critical thinking and problem solving skills.
    5. Student/graduate uses measures to improve and maintain safety in the laboratory.
    6. Graduate is prepared to sit for and pass the national exam.

    The learning objectives for the Phlebotomy technician program are:

    1. Gain career awareness and the opportunity to prove their abilities in their career choice.
    2. Enhance their education experience by receiving laboratory and clinical experience related to their career interests prior to graduation.
    3. Receive greater meaning and comprehension for formal course work by integrating classroom studies with laboratory exercises and formal clinical experiences.
    4. Receive exposure to specialized facilities and equipment sometimes unavailable in the classroom setting.
    5. Develop confidence, maturity, responsibility, and skills in human relations.
    6. Increase employability potential after graduation.
