Collins
Career Center is proud to have the Advisor / Advisee
program which promotes character education. This
program pairs up students with teachers in a way
that allows the teachers to get to know the students
better. This has allowed for stronger
student/teacher relationships and gives the students
another adult in the school that they can feel
comfortable talking to.
The Advisors and
Advisees will meet two times a month. Every meeting
will be on Friday and the administration has spaced
out the meeting times so that it does not interfere
with one class period.
The character
education portion of the Advisor/Advisee program is
based off of the student's handbook. Each student is
given a handbook at the beginning of the year and
they will be required to carry the handbooks to
every class. The handbooks also act as the students
agenda, hall pass, and textbook for the
Advisor/Advisee program.
