The
benefits to doing this are numerous. A few of those
include:
- Getting and
keeping the students attention with multimedia
presentations
- Better
communication with staff and students through
electronic tools
- Saving time by
completing tasks on the computer more efficiently
- Getting a Smart
Board and projector in your classroom
- Bridging the
Digital Divide between you and your students or
helping your students bridge the digital divide.
- Putting more tools
in your tool case to help you become a better
teacher.
If this sounds good to you, Collins
Career Center has created a Blackboard course that is
designed just for teachers.
The course is titled
"Computer Literacy in the Classroom." It has many
activities that will help you learn everything that you
need to know to ensure that you will be successful when
taking the IC3 tests. Five teachers completed
the course the first year it was available and passed
their IC3 tests. They are now enjoying their stipend and
Smart Boards.
As you take the course in blackboard, you will learn about some of the
uses of blackboard and find ways to integrate them into your blackboard
course site. Seeing blackboard from a student's point of view will help
you learn about blackboard and everything that it can do.
