The Surgical Technology program is
designed to provide the graduate with the necessary knowledge
and skills to provide safe and efficient care to the patient
undergoing surgery. Students will learn the theory of
perioperative care and also learn the skills necessary to
assist during an operative procedure. The student will learn
these skills in the lab then perform the skills in the actual
operating room setting. By graduation, the student will be
able to perform these duties independently in the operating
room setting. Following graduation, the student will be
eligible to sit for the National Certifying Examination for
Surgical Technologists. Courses offered in this program
