Business Administration Management

Business Tech Prep is a two-year college and career preparation program for juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a college degree or career in the business world. The primary focus of the course is to prepare for  and take the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification Exams in the areas of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Certifications allow students to receive college credit and improve resumes and career potential. Additionally, students are introduced to various business functions including, but not limited to, marketing and advertising, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, and office procedures.

Seniors participate in an internship three days a week during the second semester. Both juniors and seniors keep a journal: two to three journal entries are assigned weekly and graded each nine weeks. Current event articles and quizzes are every Friday. Various other topics and assignments are explored throughout the course. Students also become members of Business Professionals of America (BPA), conduct the Christmas for Angels' annual project, and crate the school newsletters and digital yearbook. While many students enrolled in the course are interested in pursuing careers in business, the technology skills gained are practical for any career choice.
